Long before the Seven Hour war:
Isamu was born in a city near Tokyo. His father worked in an electronics factory. A small daughter factory from Sony to be more precise. His mother was the "standard house wife" you see in every American movie. She took care of Isamu when his father was at work. Isamu made a lot of friends at his elementary school, which he stayed with for a long time. They were often found at the local river, where they swam for hours straight. Often forgetting about diner.
In the summer holiday in his transition from elementary to high school, Isamu's father had been diagnosed with cancer. The toxic waste that went through the factory, out of sight of the whole world, had become fatal. Doctors told him he would reach the end of the summer holiday, at most. This is where Isamu's downfall began.
He said goodbye to his father for the last time on his first day of high school.
After his graduation he stood there all alone. Only a few friends remained.
A year before the Seven Hour war:
Isamu decided to make something of his life. He met Roshira Osamu just after his graduation. The man owned several stores in Japan and decided to take Isamu under his wing. This way, Isamu had a place to sleep, a token earned and a new friend made. He grew fast in Roshira's imperium and owned a store quicker than anyone ever expected. He had a lot of fun managing a store and even hired some childhood friends while he was at it. Ever since his graduation, Isamu was feeling happy again.
After the Seven Hour war:
Isamu erased every possible memory of the Seven Hour war from his brain, atleast, that is what he likes to think. He was placed in City 8 since the beginning of the Combine Oppresion. He wandered the streets a lot, attended workshifts, which were mandatory, and sat a lot at the local Ramen Restaurant. After a long time, Isamu met the owner of the place, Haruto Ito. The man reminded Isamu a lot of Roshira. Ito owned several stores in town, looked like a care taker and generally expressed calmth. Isamu decided to have a chat with the man.

"It's great to still have you around. You don't work as hard as before anymore, but I am glad we run Kobito together!"
