These are all the currently active guidelines of the Permanent Kill system for the Half-Life 2 Roleplay Server. Although the following rules exist, they are merely used as guidelines. If a member of the Administration Team believes your character should or should not be Permanently Killed, you have to respect their decision. If you disagree with it, please contact a Staff Manager .
YOUR CHARACTER WILL BE PERMANENTLY KILLED FOR AN IC ACTION UNLESS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING APPLY:
- Death was unintentional and not roleplayed, eg. accidentally falling off a ladder or a roof due to lag, a general gameplay bug etc.
- Death was a result of a rule break, and was appealed.
- Death was a result of Witness Sterilization by Civil Protection.
- Death was caused in a S2K engagement and you were not necessarily the intended target (e.g. you were caught in a crossfire or confused with someone else).
- Note that this does NOT apply during a hostage situation. The "rescuers" cannot simply engage S2K and gun down the entire room, with the hostage then pleading 'crossfire'.
- Dispatch wanted you deserviced In-Character, for any reason.
- The reason for your death is completely your fault (eg. Patrolling alone in a dark alleyway, responding to dangerous requests alone, not following clear protocol, etc).
- You die during an unprovoked sweep (ie not a retaliatory sweep).
- Your death was targeted; someone wanted you to die specifically.
What happens if your character does not get Permanently Killed:
Should your death cause fall under any of the specified exceptions above, your death will be practically retconned, and the person who was killed will be replaced by another ordinary citizen In-Character (if possible/applicable). The same goes for Civil Protection characters, but they will also be moved back a single rank. Should they die at the minimum possible rank, they will be Permanently Killed.
