Breen's Interpretation of Instinct. Misunderstood?
We cannot fault man, nor its inability to compute for ::CMB:: expectation.
Our beloved consciousness inhabiting outdated, oftentimes malperforming figures takes its toll on man, and has taken its toll on man for eons, ever since the elder winds and ancient timber birthed our first fires with help from man's ingenuity.
But we may not blame mother instinct in its entirety for our hardships. Look deeper.
War, Crime, and Discourse - these we may blame and must shun. In the ideals of Breen and ::CMB::, these hatchlings of instinct from generations ago obstruct true unification. It is true they inspire those to find unknown as a threat. It is true they inspire those to discourage inter-species collaboration. They are decay. They are a tumor.
Curiosity, Questioning, and Insight - these we may not blame and must encourage. They are also hatchlings of instinct, but are not the undesired problem children, unable to be disciplined no matter the severity of punishment and rehabilitation. These hatchlings of instinct have existed alongside the problem children for equal time, mired in consistent battle with its kin of which no victor has been proclaimed...until now. They oversaw the foundation of humanity's survival in Breen's initiative. They imbued within our species' finest minds and greatest achievements. They are us. They are beneficial to Our Benefactors, and to our species.
In the trivial moment of unification as Breen spoke with ::CMB:: on the Day of Rescue, we found the unknown's opportunity, after weeks of fearing it. Over the years, the unknown became known and beamed its benevolence upon our species, preventing it from complete extinction. Through our trust in positive instinct, we are overcoming our fear of the unknown and vanquishing the detrimental myth of "comfort zones."
To achieve final unity, we must encourage moderated instinct, which has existed since our ascension. We just didn't know it. Our task is only to utilize Curiosity, Questioning, and Insight. The task of Our Benefactors is to ensure the problem children, War, Crime, and Discourse, do not spread its malignance.
The words of Breen in the Speech of Instinct hold absolute truth. The problem lies in man's unfortunate misinterpretation of his wisdom. He elaborates on urge; the urge to reproduce.
The ancestors of our current body succeeded through moderated instinct. The curiosity of man brought advancements and breakneck speed. The ability to question has given us answers. The blessing of insight birthed our finest philosophers.
The True Citizen must know the difference between urge and curiosity. Discredit and slay the former, but promote and vitalize the latter. Overcome fear of the unknown. Embrace the change to societal norms. Learn the reprogramming of our neural presets.
Prepare for unification.
