Suggestion:
A system in place to eradicate the presence of non-players from our community; who join the discord server for the memes/drama, or are inactive entirely, without joining the server once. Typically holding the general mindset that our server is the same as any other.

Reason for this Suggestion:
Lurkers inflate a server's population and is a real annoyance to deal with. When you have 50+ users in your Discord server but only 9 max play on the Gmod server? That's lurking. You think you're doing alright because you have a large community, but in truth you're barely afloat.

A simple solution I'd like to propose:

#1: Regarding new players: Players are only verified once they've joined the server in-game and can be vouched for by a staff (so that it's not abused and they just join for 5 seconds just to leave)

#2: Regarding already-existing players: Create two roles.
*Active Member
*Inactive Member
If they are inactive for a week without a given reason, give them the inactive role. If they have the inactive role for over a week, put them back into verification.

This would require just basic awareness. It's easy to point out someone on the discord and ask someone you haven't seen on the server before or for a while when they were on the server last.

Not to give the impression that we're forcing members of the community to play on the server 24/7. It's not like people would be forced into activity, but instead it's more or less that Discord should be a medium used for real time coordination for enhancing gameplay, not as a place to steal memes from off topic.

Requires:
The strongest of wills.

While the Verification process does keep out a number of lurkers, I am aware of their presence in the community and was already planning on implementing a system like this after receiving some survey responses which shared the same feeling. Although I'd like an accurate representation of my playerbase, I'll Accept this but won't implement it until after the server launches. It's only logical for some people to be inactive if the server is not even up yet.
