I knew my words were fruitless, the officer in front of me had two choices; Let the random citizen who he perceived as nothing more than a senseless thug, or risk his, and likely his family's, life to let me escape. Hundreds of ways I could've avoided this played through my head, what if I did this differently? What if I didn't do that? What if I went here instead? These thoughts came to an abrupt end as a bullet from the officer's pistol pierced its way into my skull.
I woke up to the gentle sound of a running stream and the melodic chirps of birds in the distance. Sunlight flooded into my eyes as I slowly opened them, forcing me to squint for a little as I observed my surroundings. I was in a field, beside me was a small stream. To my left was a forest of colorful deciduous trees whos leaves danced softly in the wind.
"Vladimir!" A calming voice called out to me from behind.
I turned around and instantly bowed down to the figure I saw before me.
"Welcome! Welcome to Paradise!"
