Although teen-age Alex described his experience of growing-up as uneventful and fairly normal, he also admits to being sheltered and overprotected to the point where exposure to the outside world would provoke anxiety. He only reintegrated into society when he went to college in Santa Monica, California to earn an Associate Degree of Arts in Animation, Interactive Technology, Video Graphics, and Special Effects. After this, he worked as a Junior Game Designer at Kung Fu Factory for three years, until 2013. Everything changed after the Combine attacked.
